Play.

This work invites its audience to reconnect with sensory play, merging tactile interaction with new media. Adults are rarely encouraged to explore their senses or embrace their inner child—what happens when they do? Can art reignite playfulness and foster connection?

This simple sandbox is transformed into a living, shapeable canvas. Video projections warp as the sand is touched, turning it into a dynamic evolving surface. Above, a braid of hair, powered by a hidden motor, slowly traces circles in the sand. The interplay between human and machine invites viewers to interrogate their role in the art and its transformation.

Made using sand foraged from the banks of the Mississippi River, wood, projector, braiding hair, a disco ball motor, plaster, and my body.
